Car stolen during fast-food run

A teenage girl who ran into McDonald's to grab a quick bite, Friday, came back to the parking-lot to find her car missing,  police said.

The girl, who was driving her father's 1994 dark blue Volkswagen Beetle, ran into the restaurant at 5614 North Clark Street around 3:45 p.m., leaving her car in the parking lot with the keys in the ignition and doors unlocked.

She returned minutes later to find the car gone.

The car is described as having a Northwestern University sticker on the rear window and a Chicago Bears bumper sticker.

Leaving keys in the car, unlocked, is about the least intelligent thing one can do in a city. The theft was well earned, in my opinion! Dear victim, thanks a lot for helping increase Edgewater's crime rate needlessly.
