West Side fire injures two
Firefighters rescued two people calling for help from the second-story windows of a burning West Side building last night.
A first-floor resident of the building at 1906 N. Keystone Avenue spotted flames and called the Fire Department shortly after 9 p.m., said spokesman Larry Langford.
One of the fire victims and a police officer were injured. Emergency crews took them to Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
The interior of the three-flat suffered moderate damage, and the porch was severely damaged, according to the Fire Department.
Firefighters declared the incident under control at 9:32 p.m., and are still investigating the cause of the fire.
