Bank robbers force customers into vault

Two unidentified men robbed a North Side bank at gunpoint Friday morning.

The men entered the bank at 7555 N. California at 9:40 a.m. with their guns drawn, police reports said.

One robber order bank staff and customers into the vault and took an unknown amount of cash from inside, police said.

The other man remained inside the front door and pointed his gun at the security guard, police reports said.

After the robbery both offenders fled on foot through an alley behind the bank.

Officers searching the area after the incident found a pellet gun and some cash from the robbery in the alley, police said.
