South Side girl escapes attempted abduction
Police have issued a warning to residents of the Chicago Lawn neighborhood about a possible child abductor in the area.
At 11:00 a.m. on July 13th, a 15-year-old girl was walking in the 6200 block of South Hamlin when a man driving an older green Ford Explorer tried to kidnap her, police said.
Police described the suspect as a 20-year-old black male with a bald head and dark complexion.
The girl ran from the offender, who drove away.
Police have advised residents to beware of any suspicious activity and to call the Area One Detective Division at (312) 747-8380 if they have any information relating to the incident.
